I’ve been loving this lately!

A friend posted a link to The Darjeelings when they did this Balcony TV Vid and I gave it a watch. Ever since then I have been hearing of them everywhere so I thought I would check out their EP. Definitely give it a listen!

The Darjeelings EP on Soundcloud.

Lanie Lane

On Saturday night I went to ‘The Westernport Hotel’ in San Remo. Lanie Lane was playing there with Jordie Lane and local artist Grace Starling.

Grace Starling is an acoustic singer song writer from the Philip Island area and she was a great entertainer starting off with a cover of Pink’s ‘Get the Party Started’ then moving onto all originals.

The next artist was Jordie Lane, not related to Lanie as they pointed out! He was a very humorous folk singer with some amazing guitar skills! He made sure to get the audience involved as much as possible to get them ready for Lanie Lane.

When Lanie Lane finally came out she had such a cool vibe. It was the first time I had ever seen her live and she was amazing. She played with a guitarist and a vocalist/trumpet player. She was really relaxed and interacted with the crowd well which is something I really look at when going to gigs for my own growth. After the show she went to the merch desk and did some signing so I met her down there and had a chat!

Below are some pictures I took from the gig of Jordie Lane and Lanie Lane.

Ah, so amazing.

Hey! Sorry about the delay seeing I saw this gig 13 days ago…been super busy working.
Anyway the Arctic Monkeys were beyond amazing to see live. They played at Festival Hall and we were in the seated section, to the left of the stage so we could see the sound techs and everyone being super busy while the bands played.

The night opened with a Brisbane band called Violent Soho. They weren’t my cup of tea, a bit too heavy for my liking but they were good live none the less.

The second act to play was Miles Kane. I hadn’t heard of him until I read on the ticket he was touring with the Arctic Monkeys and didn’t think to check him out before going to the show but he was impressive. Very similar to the Arctic Monkeys but I liked it, I bought his album the other day on iTunes. He got all the audience involved and really pumped and excited for the Monkeys to come out.

Finally the Arctic Monkeys. Alex Turner sounded perfect as usual and all together they put on a great show.  They played most of their new songs opening their set with ‘Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair’ but didn’t forget their classics like ‘Brianstorm’ and ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’.

Sitting where we were we could see the front of the mosh pit and there were people getting pulled out all the time, there wasn’t a time were the security wasn’t trying to rip someone out of the crowd. It was crazy and made me feel very pleased about buying seated tickets. Ha

Overall an amazing gig and I will definitely be going to see them again next time they come out!

Not bad for an iPhone pic ^^ (:

Hope everyone is having a nice Christmas!

Sending some Christmas Cheer with a cover of ‘Santa Baby’!
